Rorschach CC (RCC) posted 146/9 after choosing to bat at Embrach Cricket Ground. Zurich Super Lions CC chased down the target with ease, finishing at 150/5 in 18.3 overs to secure a 5-wicket victory.

RCC won the toss and elected to bat first. RCC, known for their aggressive batting style, were left stunned as Super Lions’ opening bowler Srini struck early with a double blow—removing openers Ahmad and Safi for ducks and sending them back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers.

For the third wicket, RCC batters Emal and Maiwand built a solid 48-run stand off 39 balls, steadying the innings after early damage. However, just as the partnership was gaining momentum, Freddie trapped Emal plumb in front of the stumps, and he was adjudged LBW, ending the stand at 50/3 in the 7th over. In his next over, Freddie struck again, clean bowling Zabiullah to leave RCC reeling at 64/4 in the 10th over.

RCC continued to lose wickets at regular intervals but managed to keep the run rate steady. Super Lions bowler Sam removed Waleed, while Sara struck to dismiss Ali. By the end of the 14th over, RCC were struggling at 92/6. The Super Lions tightened the noose further as RCC lost two more wickets, slipping to 111/8 by the 16th over. Adil and Deon each picked up a wicket to keep the pressure firmly on.

For the 9th wicket, RCC batters Zabiullah and Kamran added a valuable 30 runs off just 22 balls, providing a late boost to the innings. Their efforts helped RCC post a competitive total of 146 at the end of their 20 overs.

2nd Innings: Super Lions Clinched Crucial Win as Sara Shines with Match-Winning 62 Runs

RCC bowlers Arif and Zabiullah put early pressure on Super Lions, dismissing openers Amit and Prashant before either could open their account. Umair and Sara then steadied the innings, regaining momentum against the disciplined RCC attack. However, just as the partnership was building, Umair fell to Emal's sharp delivery, caught out and leaving Super Lions struggling at 22/3 by the 6th over.

RCC continued to apply pressure on the Super Lions as the required run rate kept climbing and boundaries became hard to come by. However, experienced batters Sara and Minal rose to the challenge, stitching together a valuable 61-run partnership off just 43

balls. Minal contributed a handy 22 runs off 21 balls, including two sixes, before being dismissed caught and bowled in the 12th over, leaving Super Lions at 83/4.

At the other end, Sara remained composed and kept the scoreboard ticking. He was joined by Gideon (Deon), and together they stabilized the innings. Sara brought up his first half-century of the season with a commanding display of batting, shifting the momentum firmly in Super Lions' favor. His powerful hitting sent the ball out of the ground twice, signaling a resurgence in the chase. Unfortunately, Sara’s brilliant innings came to an end when Karman struck for RCC, with Sulaiman taking the catch. Sara played a match-defining knock, scoring 67 off 52 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes—a true match-winning effort.

Captain Loki joined Gideon at the crease, and from there, it was only a matter of time. With RCC visibly deflated and the result seemingly inevitable, the Super Lions maintained their momentum. Gideon played a quickfire cameo, scoring 20 runs off just 13 balls, and fittingly sealed the victory in style with a towering six. Super Lions chased down the target with 9 balls to spare, completing a well-deserved win.
