The Zurich Super Lions kicked off their 2025 T10 campaign with high hopes and strong energy. However, nature had other plans.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Super Lions showed solid aggression, racing to 77 runs in just 7 overs, with contributions across the board. Just as the game started to build momentum, persistent rain brought the match to a halt.

CC Wettingen 1 managed to face only 4.1 overs before the rain made any further play impossible.

Result: Loss by 6 Wickets

The second match of the day saw Super Lions take on the high-performing Swiss Afghan Cricket Club. Batting first, Super Lions posted a modest but defendable 71 runs in their full 10 overs. Despite some excellent intent, tight bowling from SACC restricted big scoring.

SACC, however, chased down the total in 7.1 overs, with 6 wickets in hand, led by a standout innings from Numan Ahmadzai. His explosive knock set the tone for the chase and put the Lions on the back foot early.

While the result didn’t go our way, there were moments of brilliance, and valuable lessons to take forward.

🏏 Game 3: Roaring Back with a Statement Win

Zurich Super Lions 🆚 Rorschach Cricket Club (RCC), 3 August 2025

Result: Win by 27 Runs

Game 3 brought out the very best in the Zurich Super Lions. Determined to bounce back, the team delivered a commanding performance with both bat and ball.

Batting first, the Lions posted a competitive 89/5 in their allotted 10 overs. 🧢 Prashanth led the charge with a well-compiled 28 runs, showing composure under pressure.

With the ball, the Lions were lethal:🔥Adil was the star, tearing through RCC’s lineup with a brilliant 4-wicket haul, helping bundle them out for 62 runs in 9.5 overs.

✅ A complete team performance – aggressive batting, disciplined bowling, and sharp fielding. A well-earned victory!

🏏 Game 4: Final Fight in the Group Stage

Zurich Super Lions 🆚 Cricket Verein Zurich (CVZ), 3 August 2025

Result: Loss by 8 Wickets

In their final group game, Super Lions posted 62/6 in 10 overs after a watchful and measured start. Despite their best efforts, it proved to be below par on a good batting surface.

CVZ chased down the target in 8.5 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Though the result didn’t favor the Lions, the team showed resilience and character on the field.

👏 Effort, energy, and commitment were never lacking – the boys gave it their all.

Unfortunately, with just 1 win from 4 matches, the Zurich Super Lions bow out of the 2025 T10 Championship. But the spirit, improvement, and passion displayed throughout the tournament were nothing short of inspiring.

Rain, rivalries and a roaring win mark Lions’ spirited Group C campaign in Hünenberg Zug

The Zurich Super Lions’ T10 2025 journey ended in the group stages, but the campaign was anything but short of spirit, camaraderie, and fight. Across four games in Hünenberg Zug, the Lions showcased glimpses of brilliance even as results didn’t fully go their way.

The tournament began in frustrating fashion, with rain cutting short their opening clash against CC Wettingen-1. A tough second outing followed against the formidable Swiss Afghan Cricket Club, where the Lions battled hard but went down by six wickets.

The highlight of the campaign came in Game 3 against Rorschach CC, where Prashanth’s composed 28 set the platform before Adil’s fiery four-wicket spell ripped through the opposition, sealing a statement 27-run victory. Despite finishing the group with a defeat against Cricket Verein Zurich, the Lions’ energy and commitment never wavered.

With 1 win, 2 losses, and 1 no result, the Super Lions bowed out of Group C. Yet, the campaign was rich with positives — from the aggression at the top to disciplined spells with the ball and, most importantly, the spirit of togetherness that the players carried throughout.

“We should all be proud of the way we played. Tremendous team effort across the board — let’s keep our heads high and push forward with the same energy,” skipper Loki summed up after the final game.

For the Zurich Super Lions, this T10 campaign wasn’t just about numbers on the table, but the foundation for bigger roars in the future.
