Solothurn CC struggled from the outset, crumbling under sustained pressure and managing to post only 68 runs before being bowled out. Solothurn CC, Captain Abdulbasir was the only batter to offer resistance, top-scoring with 23 runs. Remarkably, the second-highest contribution came from extras, adding 19 valuable runs to the total.

On an overcast day, the Super Lions won the toss and made the right call by choosing to field first in their opening Cricket Switzerland Regional League (CSRL) match against Solothurn CC on 07 June 2025. Taking full advantage of the overcast conditions and a damp pitch from the previous night’s rain, the Super Lions' bowlers delivered a relentless performance.

1st Innings: Deon and Adi Teared Through  Solothurn CC Batting Line-up in Style

The toss favored Captain Loki, who made the right call by choosing to bowl first. With overnight rain and overcast conditions, the Super Lions bowlers kept relentless pressure on the Solothurn CC batters, offering no breathing room throughout the innings. Adi started the bowling for Super Lions and provided the early breakthroughs, removing Samir at 11 in the 4th over and dismissing Salim at 18 in the 7th, sending both batsmen back to the pavilion. 

What followed was a batting collapse for Solothurn CC, as only captain Abdulbasir managed to offer any resistance to the Super Lions' bowlers, top-scoring with 23 runs. By the end of the 14th over, Solothurn CC had lost half their side with the score at 45/5. The remaining batters could add only 23 more runs, as the team was bowled out for just 68 in 22 overs.

Deon was the standout bowler for the Super Lions with 4 wickets, closely followed by Adi, who claimed 3. Adil, Freddie, and Sara each chipped in with a wicket to complete a dominant team performance. Setting the target of 69 runs in 40 overs of Super Lions batters. 

2nd Innings: Target for Super Lions 69 Runs in 40 Overs 

After the amazing bowling performance, it was the time for Super Lions batters to chase the target with ease. Super Lions got an early hiccup when opener Minal was adjudged LBW in the very first over of the innings (4/1). 

Umair joined Prashant at the crease, and together they unleashed a free-flowing partnership, adding 57 runs. Unfortunately, Prashant was adjudged LBW just before reaching 20 runs (including one boundary) at 61 for 2 early in the 12th over. With only 8 runs needed for their first win in the CSPL tournament, Captain Loki stepped up to the crease and sealed the victory with a spectacular six.

Super Lions chased the target in 12 overs and won by 8 Wickets.
